The Office for European Affairs on tour in Bečej
A seminar of the Office for European Affairs has been held in Bečej, within the framework of the informative and educational campaign for Cross-border Cooperation (CBC) Programmes.
The CBC programmes are a means of improving cooperation at regional and local level, with the aim of strengthening relations between European regions and cities. They aim at achieving sustainable economic and social development in the region, providing information to candidate and potential candidate countries on the procedures, legislation and habits of the European Union, providing greater security in the region and common solving of problems by means of projects.
Bečej Municipality is included in the Hungary – Serbia CBC Programme and in the programmes which are about to start: Croatia – Serbia CBC Programme, South East Europe (SEE) Programme and Adriatic Programme with Italy, which is also financed through the IPA Fund, Component 2.
The seminar was attended by the representatives of local self-governments, furthermore, economic, educational, tourist, cultural, sports and economic organisations and NGOs from the territory of the district covered by the CBC Programmes. The representatives of the Office for European Affairs addressed the attendees and presented the CBC Programmes, which would be accessible to our country in the course of the year. The greatest number of direct questions were related to the new rules of procedure for application for CBC Programmes, advance project financing, co-financing rate and prospects for partner search.
