Conference within the AGRINNO project
In the crowded halls 3 and 4 of the Master Centre of the Novi Sad Fair, a well-attended press conference “Innovative Approach in Agriculture” was held yesterday as part of the “Agrinno” project, in which the Fund is cooperating with the Provincial Secretariat for Agricultural, Water Management and Forestry, Congrád County in Hungary and the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops.
Secretary Vuk Radojević PhD presented the results of the “Agriculture innovation towards growth and employment in cross-border region – Agrinno” project, emphasizing that he believed that it was certain that it would have its continuation in the new “Agrino 2” project. This is also the first time that the Provincial Secretariat for Agricultural, Water Management and Forestry has been the leading beneficiary in an international project.
One of the important objectives of the Agrinno project is that three agricultural schools from Vojvodina received state-of-the-art greenhouses at several locations.
The director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Vidosava Enderić informed the participants about the successfully implemented activities in the Agrinno project, as well as the role of the Fund not only in this project, but also in what ways the Fund contributed to withdrawing as much EU funding to Vojvodina as possible. The director pointed out that over 200 people were trained through the Specialised Programme “Regional Development Management through EU Funds”, which the Fund had successfully organized for six cycles, and in which participants gained knowledge about EU funds, EU project development and implementation. Director Enderić also expressed her pleasure because of the fact that the cooperation with the partners continued because a project proposal for AGRINNO 2 was submitted.
The new project idea proposal included alternative plant species, i.e. medicinal herbs that were attractive for business development and profitable and could ensure that young people stay in the countryside.
In addition to the competent secretary, Radojević PhD, and the director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, the speakers were also Svetlana Telebić PhD, director of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, and Beáta Kovács, vice-president of the General Assembly of Congrád County.
The project partners pointed out that they had defined new priorities within the “Agrinno 2” project. The activity was expanded, and it was not just only about vegetable crops. The new project also included alternative plant species, i.e. medicinal herbs that were attractive for business development and profitable and could ensure that young people stay in the countryside.
The conference panellists were Janko Červenski PhD, scientific advisor for plant breeding and genetics at the Vegetables Department, and Timea Pálfi PhD, representative of Csongrád Megye Fejlesztéséért Nonprofit Kft. At the end, the participants were addressed by the project manager of the AGRINNO project, and, on behalf of the Provincial Secretariat for Agricultural, Water Management and Forestry, Predrag Rajić. Rajić pointed out that the implementation of the project was most challenging.
