The last training session on EU project development for representatives of educational institutions in the first semester of 2014/2015 school year held

Last week the representatives of European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and Provincial Secretariat for Education, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities held the last in a series of training sessions planned for the first semester of 2014/2015 school year for the representatives of educational institutions in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The training course “EU funds: from idea to realization“ on EU project development was held at the secondary boarding school in Subotica and attended by 28 representatives of institutions of the municipalities Subotica and Bačka Topola.

The first day of the training course, the participants obtained detailed information on the funding options under the EU programmes, such as Erasmus+, Europe for Citizens and Creative Europe, whereas special attention was put on the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance and Cross-border Cooperation (CBC) programmes relevant for North Bačka District – IPA Cross-Border Programme Hungary – Serbia and IPA Cross-Border Programme Romania – Serbia. The second day, the attendees could gain hands-on experience in preparing CBC projects using tools, such as the problem tree, objectives tree and logical matrix. Through active participation and in group work, the attendees shaped their project ideas according to the teacher’s guidelines. The training course resulted in five project ideas in the field of environmental protection, enrichment of extra-curricular and sport activities in schools, as well as work with children from marginalized social groups. All project ideas were based on the employment of local resources and aimed at solving local problems. On the last day, the topic was the budgeting of projects and procedures for submission of proposals. Moreover, the Open University from Subotica presented to participants their experience in the preparation and implementation of European projects in the field of non-formal education.

In 2014 the training course was received by 126 participants of 53 institutions in Vojvodina, in the course 5 training sessions in Kanjiža, Sremska Mitrovica, Kikinda, Vršac and Subotica. The training courses were to include over 270 participants from 106 institutions involving nine municipalities in Vojvodina until the end of the academic year 2014/2015. The second training cycle is expected to start in February 2015.
