Second project team meeting within the MOS-Cross 3 project held in Novi Sad

Within the framework of the “Mosquito Control in Cross-border Area 3 (MOS-Cross 3)” project, the second project team meeting was held in Novi Sad on 22 September 2023.

The meeting was attended by members of the project teams from the Public Health Institute Sombor, Teaching Institute of Public Health for the Osijek-Baranya County and European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina.

The project partners reported on the activities carried out in the first and second reporting period. Public procurements planned by the project were carried out. The public procurement served to acquire, among other things, equipment for monitoring mosquitoes and laboratory equipment. Moreover, training sessions related to mosquito surveillance and sampling methods for detecting diseases transmitted by mosquitoes were held for health workers of North Bačka District and Vukovar-Srijem County.

Educational workshops – in schools and elderly homes in order to raise the awareness of children and the elderly about mosquito-borne diseases – will be held at the end of September and the beginning of October. Also, the international scientific conference on mosquito-borne diseases and methods of prevention aimed at raising awareness and providing specific knowledge to relevant cross-border stakeholders will be held in Novi Sad on 25 October 2023.
