Fourth working group meeting within DR SHARE project held
Following the three working group meetings for the collection and comparison of data within the DR SHARE project, the fourth meeting was held at the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in Novi Sad on 14 November 2016. The project aims to reduce disaster risk, standardize hazard analysis and risk assessment. The project value is approximately EUR 281,000, whereas the European Commission co-financing is EUR 210,000.
The backbone of the project is the development of an IT tool, which will be available to competent authorities in civil protection in the areas covered by the project, so as to provide timely information about available resources in order to meet the challenges in a short period of time in the event of natural disasters.
The structure and type of data necessary for the successful development and subsequently successful operation of the software application was discussed on the fourth meeting. The issue of critical infrastructure and preparation of risk charts was also discussed. The software applications is the starting point for future project activities.
The meeting was attended by members of the project team, as well as members of the working group for the collection and comparison of data in the framework of the DR SHARE project. The DR SHARE project brings together partners from three countries that are exposed to similar risks. The project is implemented by the European Affairs Fund of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, International Cooperation and Local Self-Government from Serbia, moreover the Vukovar-Srijem County, the Development Agency of Vukovar-Srijem County Hrast Ltd. and the National Protection and Rescue Directorate from Croatia, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina the Ministry for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of Posavina County is included in the project.
