The sixth training for healthcare workers was held within the Mos-Cross2 project

As part of the Mos-Cross2 project, on July 7-8, 2022, the sixth, final two-day training for health workers was held in the Kopački Rit Nature Park and Beli Manastir, in Croatia. As part of the training, healthcare workers expanded their knowledge about mosquitoes as vectors of infectious diseases and their diagnostics. The lecturer at the training was the renowned professor of the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, Aleksandar Potkonjak.
The training was attended by a total of 40 health workers from the Teaching Institute for Public Health of Osijek-Baranja County, the Institute for Public Health of Sombor, the Institute of Public Health of Požega-Slavonia County, the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina, 10 from each institution, as well as members of the project teams.
During the first day, the participants learned more about infectious diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, surveillance of malaria, chikungunya, as well as identification of mosquitoes as vectors of diseases they transmit.
During the second day, the participants learned more about invasive species, Dengue fever and West Nile virus, about the examination, their laboratory diagnosis as well as the identification of mosquitoes as vectors of the diseases they transmit.
At the end of the training, concluding considerations and specifics of laboratory diagnostics of infectious diseases transmitted by mosquitoes were presented.
