The Province of Vojvodina presented its values at the European Week of Regions and Cities

A traditional reception has been held this evening, during the European Week of Regions and Cities, at the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels, at the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union, organized by the delegation of the Provincial Government and the Assembly of the AP Vojvodina, in cooperation with the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina – Vojvodina European Office in Brussels and the Vojvodina Development Agency, and aimed at the representatives of the European regions and cities, participants of the event, as well as businessmen interested in investing in Vojvodina.

The “Vojvodina Story“ event was attended by representatives of several European regions: the German state of Hessen, Italian regions of Lombardy, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Umbria, furthermore Upper Austria, the neighbouring Osijek-Baranya County, members of the European Parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps and others.

Igor Mirović, President of the Provincial Government, pointed out that the guests at this evening’s presentation of the province of Vojvodina in Brussels belonged to a very strong team of regions, which indicated that good contacts had been established during the European Week of Regions and Cities.

He added that in addition, in the speech of the Prime Minister of Serbia in front of the members of the European Parliament, and in direct contacts of the delegation of Vojvodina with those regions, the overall path of our country and all its values were successfully presented, as well as, when it comes to Vojvodina, the qualities of Vojvodina needed to be underlined and presented in the right light.

“At events such as the European Week of Regions and Cities, there are also those who are insufficiently informed and with prejudices. So our task is to be visible, to achieve our interests by arguments and to create a network of our friends in Europe by affirming our values, for the benefit of all citizens, which is what we have done at this year’s event“, said Mirović.

Mirović thanked the members of the European Parliament, representatives of regions and cities, business communities from Belgium and Brussels on the cooperation and presence at the reception, with the wish to leave with good impressions about Vojvodina.

István Pásztor, President of the Assembly of the AP Vojvodina, thanked the guests from European regions, saying that today’s meeting with the representatives of European regions was a confirmation that there was hope for enhancing cooperation for mutual benefit.

At this evening’s reception, a promotional film about Vojvodina was shown, so the guests could obtain information about its potentials, in different economic areas, education, science, tourism.
