The visit of the delegation of Friuli-Venezia Giulia to the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina
An economic and political delegation of the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, headed by President Renzo Tondo, have paid an official visit to the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina at the invitation of the province. The economic part of the delegation visited the Novi Sad Fair, Chambers of Economy, whereby they were also informed about potential investment locations. During the meeting, the two administrations made an agreement on continuing the cooperation with the Office of Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region in Brussels and INFORMEST, Italian agency for cooperation and technical assistance. The two presidents and the highest representatives of the provincial administrations welcomed the initiatives on which they would be working shortly: seminars on regionalisation, decentralisation and mutual assistance, use of territorial development funds, cooperation of fairs, projects in culture, tourism and environmental protection, cooperation among the universities of Novi Sad, Trieste and Udine, involving exchange of students, training, internships and special postgraduate studies, as well as transfer of experience in informatisation of public administration.
Likewise, convinced of the necessity of strengthening relations, the two presidents agreed on forming a mixed working group, which would harmonise activity documents on intensifying regional cooperation in the following four months. The working group would suggest priority topics, among which the following were recognised: institutional organisation and tax decentralisation, local development, system of small and medium-sized enterprises, companies, tourism, culture, legal achievements of the EU – acquis communautaire, training and use of EU funds (IPA, IPA Adriatico, SEE) and other EU programmes (TAIEX, 7th Framework Programme for research and technological development).
