European partnership between the Office for European Affairs and the city of Niš
European partnership between the Office for European Affairs and the city of Niš has been signed today at the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. “The signing of the partnership opens up opportunities for concrete cooperation between Vojvodina and East Serbia and it shows that we share the same interest with reference to the promotion of our regions’ potential, use of EU pre-accession funds and promotion of European values”, said Miloš Simonović, Mayor of Niš.
“Within the framework of its competence and capacity, the Office for European Affairs is ready to extend a hand of partnership and the agreement signed today creates a framework for further cooperation. We expect that our colleagues from Niš will join us at the OPEN DAYS, European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels in October, at which the Office for European Affairs has been presenting the capacities of our province for three years. The message of the partnership is especially important in the time of economic challenges, political turbulence and turmoil over regionalization. Cooperation with the countries in the region and within country is very important”, said Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs and informed the journalists that the Office for European Affairs is planning to pay an official visit to Niš, where the Office for European Affairs will transfer its experiences in the use of European funds and institutional building to colleagues from Niš.
