Predrag Novikov has talked to the President of the Institute of the Regions of Europe, Dr. Franz Schausberger
Salzburg/Novi Sad, 18 December – During his stay in Austria, the Director of the Office for European Affairs, Predrag Novikov has had a meeting with Dr. Franz Schausberger, Chairman of the Board of the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) in Salzburg, on developing the cooperation which commenced in August when the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina became a member of that acknowledged institution.
IRE plays an important role in establishing relations in the region and all Europe, as well as their development, and about 45 European regions are now its members – the German Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Italian South Tyrol, Belgian Flanders, Croatian counties of Istria, Virovitica and Varaždin, Czech Plzen, Austrian Tyrol, Upper and Lower Austria.
Schausberger had plans to organise a visit of businesspeople of Salzburg to Vojvodina in the following period, with reference to the prospects of investing into our province. As it was indicated after the meeting, Vojvodina was an attractive destination, and available sites and their infrastructure equipment were especially interesting. Infrastructure was a necessary precondition for investment and that was a field where the state was to stimulate foreign investment.
