On the basis of the signed Protocol on Cooperation, as well as mutual wish to improve economic, trade and administrative relations between our two provinces, the President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Šandor Egereši and Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs, are leading the delegation of municipalities of Vojvodina, having shown interest in increased cooperation. On this occasion, the municipalities of Kanjiža, Bečej, Irig, Ruma and Žabalj will have an opportunity to present their resources to Austrian partners.
“It is most important to use the potential of regional cooperation, as economic resource, at the time of world economic crisis. So far, we have developed cooperation with a number of European regions and therefore, no one should be surprised by the fact that Vojvodina is a leader in European projects and foreign investment. During visit to Graz, we are also going to focus on initiating projects on the use of thermal water and spas in Bečej, modernizing the communal system with emphasis on waterworks and sewage system in Kanjiža and Žabalj, whereas Ruma and Irig will try to use their potential in the development of industrial zones, tourism and agriculture”, said Novikov. During the visit to Graz, meetings at the Government of Styria and Chamber of Commerce have also been planned, whereas President Egereši is going to discuss future initiatives with the President of the Parliament of Styria.
