President Pajtić met with Bavarian Minister, Erwin Huber

Salzburg, Austria, 27 August – The President of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, MA, has had a meeting with the Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport an Technology, Erwin Huber. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Government of Republic of Serbia, Saša Dragin, and the Director of the Office for European Affairs, Predrag Novikov. President Pajtić presented the main investment potential of Vojvodina for Bavarian companies, and special emphasis was placed on projects in infrastructure, energetics, as well as support for export technology development, considering the fact that 50 percent of Bavaria’s gross production was for export. “The German state of Bavaria is an ideal partner for our companies to sell in markets all over the world”, said President Pajtić. Minister Dragin talked about the potential for waste sector modernisation, whereas Mr. Novikov presented to Minister Huber the priorities of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina for further Europeisation of our region.

Erwin Huber greeted the new energy that the representatives of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina brought to Europe and he specially emphasized the problem with the image that the past decades had left as inheritance for the region. Direct participation in similar meetings, such as the third annual conference of the Institute of the Regions of Europe, were the best way to continue following the European way. Moreover, Minister Huber suggested that first a team of experts of the Bavarian Government should be sent to Vojvodina by the end of the year and they would carry out a detailed analysis of our potential and opportunities for establishing contacts with regions all over Europe. Huber accepted President Pajtić’s invitation to visit Vojvodina with the delegation of businesspeople and representatives of Bavarian institutions.
