Representatives of the Italian region of Marche in visit to the Executive Council
Novi Sad, 21 September – Representatives of the Italian region of Marche, which capital is Ancona, have visited the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina today and talked with Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs. Moreover, official talks have also commenced with the representatives of the Italian region of Tuscany, who are also staying in Serbia. Mrs. Marina Maurizi, Director of the Office for International Cooperation and European Affairs of the Marche region and a member of Italian delegation in Brussels, was especially interested in the cooperation between Marche and Vojvodina regarding social and environmental protection, waste management, small and medium size enterprise development, economic ties between the two regions and cooperation with tourist organisations and entities.
“It is of special importance for us to provide full support for environmental protection and waste disposal in Vojvodina, as well as to enhance the social protection of persons with disabilities, children as victims of violence and persons with mental illness. The majority of common projects in the above mentioned areas will be financed by Italian institutions and EU funds that are currently available to us, before acquiring the status of a candidate country for EU accession”, said Predrag Novikov.
