A reception for the delegation of the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Novi Sad, 14 May – Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs, Siniša Lazić, Secretary of Economy and Barbara Avdalović, Assistant Secretary for Regional and International Cooperation, have received the delegation of the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, who have visited this year’s International Agriculture Fair in Novi Sad. The delegation of the Italian region was comprised of Franco Iacop, Regional Secretary of International Relations and Graziano Lorenzon, Director of the Department for International Cooperation. Professor Alessandro Napoli, a representative of the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the director of the office of INFORMEST, a regional development agency, in Vojvodina was also present at the meeting.
”The new Cooperation Agreement between the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia is ready and it will be signed in Trieste in the following period by the President of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, and the Prime Minister of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Riccardo Illy. It will present a framework for the development of already successful cooperation”, said Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs. “The closing conference of ISSER, a joint project between our two provinces, which has been planned to be held in Novi Sad in mid-June, will be an opportunity for initiating some new ideas and projects, since it is clear that we should perform together at the EU funds”, said Franco Jakop, Regional Secretary for International Relations of Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region. Barbara Avdalović indicated that Vojvodina’s most prosperous international cooperation was with the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, both at bilateral and multilateral level. Siniša Lazić, Provincial Secretary of Economy, pointed out how important cooperation in economy was, because the establishment of economic relations between the companies from the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and companies from Italian regions would lead to the fulfilment of conditions for the increase in employment rate in our province.
