DR SHARE project presented at a conference in Brussels
On 20th January 2016, a kick-off conference was held at the Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (DG ECHO) in Brussels marking the beginning of the implementation of 25 projects approved for funding by the European Commission within the 2016 Call for proposals for prevention and preparedness projects.
Among the projects presented at the conference was the project “Disaster Reduction, Standardized Hazard Analysis and Risk Evaluation – DR SHARE”, which resulted from the cooperation between several institutions from Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project partners from Serbia are the European Affairs Fund of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Provincial Secretariat for Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government. The Croatian project partners are Vukovar-Srijem County, Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency HRAST Ltd. and the National Protection and Rescue Directorate, while Bosnia and Herzegovina is represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Posavina County.
The project objective is to improve risk management in order to reduce the consequences, intensity and frequency of natural disasters and major accidents and protect the population, the environment and property through the exchange of best practices, harmonization of methodologies in three states and the creation of new IT solutions that can help manage risks in the cross-border region between Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project duration is 18 months while the total value of the project amounts to EUR 281,222.
The conference was opened by Mr Hans Das, Head of Unit in the Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, followed by the presentations of project managers. The project “Disaster Reduction, Standardized Hazard Analysis and Risk Evaluation – DR SHARE” was presented by Mr Krunoslav Srpak, Project Manager from the Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency HRAST Ltd. The conference was attended by the following project team members: Kristina Černok representing the Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency HRAST Ltd., Tamara Glišić representing the European Affairs Fund of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Marijana Vincetić representing the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Posavina County from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
