Working visit and presentation of AP Vojvodina in Nivelles, Belgium

Srđan Mačkić, Head of the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels was in a working visit to Nivelles, Belgium on 5 December 2019, at the invitation of Philippe Suinen, President at Walloon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), where he met with five local representatives of the chamber.

Walloonia is one of the three regions of the Kingdom of Belgium, and this Chamber of Commerce and Industry gathers the majority of SMEs of this southern part of Belgium. On the initiative of the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vojvodina and CCI signed the Memorandum of Understanding in Brussels on 8 October 2018.

The meeting was organised in order to connect businessmen from AP Vojvodina and Wallonia, i.e. concrete exchange of contacts between members of chambers. The meeting was attended by the international coordinators of the following areas in Wallonia: Walloon Brabant-Nivelles; Hainaut-Charleroi-Моns; Walloonie Picarde-Tournai; Liège-Verviers-Namur-Liège and Belgian Luxembourg-Libramont. The international coordinators informed Mačkić about their work methods, and their internal organisation, and held a presentation on the main business activities of their members. First of all, the focus was on the IT sector, i.e. on the metal sector.

The Head of the Vojvodina Office also informed the attendees about the economic activities of AP Vojvodina, i.e. presented AP Vojvodina as a favourable destination for investment and business. The Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina and the Vojvodina Development Agency participated in the making of the presentation of AP Vojvodina.

As the result of the working visit, the hosts expressed particular interest in organising a visit of Walloon businessmen, therefore, the visit of this business delegation will be organised in the coming period.
