A working visit to the municipality of Pančevo

The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Milan Čežek, Nemanja Davidović, Zoran Pavić and Jelena Radosavljević Rovčanin have visited the municipality of Pančevo and held a meeting with Saša Pavlov, mayor, Maja Vitman, city manager, and Anđela Vila, Ivan Orlov Gajan and Tatjana Medić, associates from the Secretariat for Economy and Economic Development – Project Support Department.

The theme of the meeting was the ongoing EU funded projects of the municipality of Pančevo, as well as the plans and needs of the project team in the municipality, so as to be more effective in the future work. From the cross-border cooperation programmes, those are, first of all, the projects with Romania (Interreg IPA CBC Programme Romania-Serbia 2014-2020), but they are also interested in projects with Hungary as a partner, where the Fund might help in establishing contacts and improving their future co-operation. There is also a need for advanced training in project implementation, especially practical know-how by more experienced neighbouring countries that are already the EU member states, such as Hungary and Croatia, whereby the Fund also offered to mediate. The Municipality of Pančevo, being experienced in developing and implementing EU projects and with an excellent team formed to attract capital to the municipality, is an ideal example of good practice, especially to the municipalities that are not so efficient in solving local problems by using available EU grants.
