Development of Vojvodina municipalities through EU cooperation
The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of the AP Vojvodina, Milan Čežek and Zoran Pavić, as well as the representatives of the Development Agency of Vojvodina, Živko Planić and Tanja Simić, visited the municipalities of Kovin and Belo Crkva on 11 December 2018 to enhance the monitoring and implementation of European processes and institutional capacity building of local self-governments and their institutions in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
The hosts in the municipality of Kovin were Zoran Nikolić, deputy president of the municipality, Slađana Ćirikovački, head of the Office for Local and Economic Development, and Lavinika Đorđević, Office for Local and Economic Development. The municipality of Kovin has not submitted any project applications in the previous period. They were interested in undergoing the training course organized by the Fund and form a team for project development.
The hosts in the municipality of Bela Crkva were Barbara Radosavljević Turtureja, head of the Department for Urban Planning, Economy and Inspectional Affairs, and Gordana Timotijević and Darko Osojić of the Office for Local and Economic Development. Currently, a project on closed market construction, in the amount of EUR 970,000, is being implemented in cooperation with a Romanian partner. The project is to be completed next year. Due to a lack of financial resources in the municipal budget, they have not submitted applications under the calls this year.
Both municipalities were interested in establishing a better and more comprehensive cooperation, from training courses to project implementation.
