Meeting with representatives of Lower Austria
The office of AP Vojvodina in Brussels is on March 29, 2022. hosted representatives of the Austrian region of Lower Austria, led by the director of the Brussels office of this region, Mr. Victor Vaugoin.
The meeting was an opportunity to continue the good cooperation between AP Vojvodina and Lower Austria at different levels, and the heads of the two missions informed each other about current events in both regions, as well as planned activities for the next period. The excellent cooperation so far within the Working Community of the Danube Regions was emphasized, and the hope was expressed that in the coming period there will be more opportunities for organizing various events which, due to the global pandemic and restrictive measures, could not take place. Topics that were set as priorities of AP Vojvodina during the presidency of the Working Community of the Danube Regions, such as culture, digitalization and transport, were also discussed.
Representatives of Lower Austria were especially interested in the activities of the city of Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture for 2022, and they were presented with a program book, short promotional video material, as well as previous achievements related to this project. Mr. Vaughan announced the holding of the already traditional conference Wachau European Forum 2022, which will be held at the end of June in Lower Austria, and expressed hope that the representatives of AP Vojvodina will have an active participation this year as well. He also pointed out their active work on European Union policies related to the development of rural areas.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed readiness for more active cooperation between the two missions in Brussels, as well as more intensive exchange of relevant information in order to better connect relevant entities from AP Vojvodina and Lower Austria.
