Meeting with the rector of the College of Europe concerning cooperation
Professor Jörg Monar, Rector of the prestigious College of Europe, hosted a meeting in his cabinet with Ana Hrustanović, Ambassador of Republic of Serbia to the EU, and the representatives of the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels led by Srđan Mačkić, Head of the Office, on 12 January 2018.
The European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina has been communicating with the representatives of this prestigious institution for a year with the aim of increasing the quality of the training within the Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“. The topic of the meeting with Rector Monar in Bruges was further concretization of the cooperation through the educational programme the Fund implemented, as well as a completely new academic initiative for a joint project under Erasmus+, Jean Monnet Networks. The representatives of AP Vojvodina informed Rector Monar about the details of the initiative and it was agreed that high representatives of the concerned institutions should discuss the potential mutual partnership. The academic partnership would involve higher education institutions from Vojvodina and the Republic of Srpska and the College of Europe as Lead Beneficiaries.
In addition, the prospects of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and College of Europe was discussed so as to promote the administrative capacities of Serbia in the field of European affairs and to improve the quality of capacity building of civil servants within the newly established National Academy for Public Government. The visit of the delegation of the National Academy for Public Government to Bruges was announced for April.
Furthermore, according to the agreement, Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, was to deliver a lecture to students of the new academic promotion at the College in October 2018 and thus promote the Republic of Serbia and its results regarding the EU integration.
