Ceremony of certificate award to the participants of the fifth cycle of the Specialized Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“
The ceremony of certificate award to the participants has marked the ending of the fifth cycle of the Specialized Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“, which the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina traditionally organises under the auspices of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
The participants were addressed by Đorđe Milićević, Vice-president of the Provincial Government, Vidosava Enderić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and Aleksandar Andrejević, PhD, Rector of Educons University. Congratulating the participants on the successfully completed programme, Vice-president Milićević emphasized that our country was committed to the European integration process and that the Provincial Government was an active factor in building a modern, stable and developed Republic of Serbia. One of the important sources of financing in achieving our goals of strong and balanced development, as Milićević stated, was the pre-accession funds. “This is why the Specialized Programme is very important, through which we will have educated people with knowledge of institutions in the decision-making and procedures of the European Union, of the preparation and implementation of development projects for the use of available EU funds. Given that the participants are from the whole territory of Vojvodina, this will ensure prospects for sustainable regional development, which contributes to the enhancement of employment possibilities and improvement of the everyday life of our citizens,” said Vice-president Milićević.
Director Enderić reminded of the course of the fifth cycle of the programme and emphasized that over 200 participants from more than 28 municipalities of AP Vojvodina had finished the Specialized Programme. “The great interest of persons shows that the task we have set at the beginning has been fulfilled. For that purpose, this year we have tried, in cooperation with Educons University, and with the financial support of the Provincial Government, to provide more teaching units compared to previous years, to invite foreign lecturers who have shared with you their experience and examples of best practice in the management of EU funds and programmes. Moreover, we have organised two field visits on the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and a study visit to the region of Gorenjska in the Republic of Slovenia, which allowed you to exchange experience in already implemented EU projects, as well as on the subject of writing joint projects. Moreover, during the Programme, 5 project ideas have been generated and, in our view, it is an excellent result and a good starting base. We expect that the institutions whose employees have undergone the Programme will be ready to make the following steps in order for our initial idea to gain its true sense. We hope that the majority of the project ideas will be transferred into project proposals and will successfully be submitted as applications under the following calls for proposals, which would enhance interregional cooperation“, said Director Enderić.
Aleksandar Andrejević, PhD, Rector of Educons University, spoke highly of the cooperation with the Provincial Government and the Fund, and expressed his hope that the cooperation in the future would be even more fruitful.
