Certificate award ceremony for the participants of the Specialised Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“

At the certificate award ceremony at the Assembly of AP Vojvodina today, certificates have been presented to the participants who have completed successfully the first cycle of the Specialised Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“.

The programme was organised by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, in cooperation with the University of Novi Sad and Provincial Government, and it was completed successfully by 30 participants from provincial institutions and secretariats, local self-governments and civil society organisations from AP Vojvodina.

Congratulating the programme participants on the invested effort and time, the President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, István Pásztor indicated that their energy encouraged and offered hope that our society was ready to confront future challenges.

“You have showed that you are ready to invest in yourself, your knowledge and the society you live in, and that is what we need in the times to come”, emphasized Pásztor and added that we could not know what expected us at the time of rapid changes, yet the programme participants showed readiness to acquire skills that would help us all in the EU accession process of our country.

The Provincial Secretary for Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-government, Branislav Bugarski emphasized that the Provincial Government took great pleasure in supporting the implementation of the programme, which familiarised the participants with the matrices of EU way of thinking and prepared them to face its functioning in a professional way in the future. He indicated that the programme would be continued in the forthcoming years and that in that way, 1000 people from AP Vojvodina were planned to acquire know-how that would contribute to a faster and more successful development of the province by their participation in the cross-border cooperation programmes, and subsequently in the pre-accession funds of the EU.

 

The programme participants were also greeted by Professor Radmila Marinković-Nedučin PhD, one of the driving forces behind the programme implementation, rector of the University of Novi Sad, Dušan Nikolić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Siniša Lazić, as well as the lecturers who participated in the programme.

 

During the programme implementation, there were 325 lessons in total, which involved 19 teaching disciplines organised in 6 modules: EU Law and Policies; Regional Development Policies and the EU; EU Project Development and Implementation; Project Cycle Management; Capacity Building and Networking; and EU Development Programmes.

 

The participants of the specialised programme acquired successfully the relevant know-how and skills which would allow them to take an active role in the EU integration process, especially in the process of active EU fund management with the aim of regional development of AP Vojvodina.
