Seminar for communal inspectors

Within the “Support to Allergen-Free Environment” project, having resulted from the partnership among the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, City of Sombor and Local Government of Baja, and financed by the European Union and co-financed by the Autonomous Province Vojvodina, under Hungary – Serbia IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme, a seminar for communal inspectors in Vojvodina has been held in Novi Sad.

On behalf of the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the seminar was opened by the project manager, who presented the project and informed the audience about its implementation. The attendees were also addressed by the representatives of the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, City of Sombor and Local Government of Baja. The seminar discussed the characteristics of ambrosia, its effects on the environment and inhabitants, as well as activities done to suppress it on the territory of AP Vojvodina and Bács-Kiskun County. A special emphasis was put on the legal regulations regarding the suppression and eradication of ambrosia, whereby a comparative analysis on the topic in the cross-border area was done. Among the participants in the seminar were also municipal inspectors for environmental protection and representatives of local self-governments responsible for environmental protection.
