Sremski Karlovci and Stara Pazova are interested in more European projects
The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina Kristina Bašić and Senka Bengin, together with the representatives of the Vojvodina Development Agency, Nataša Rončević and Tanja Ljubičić have visited the municipality of Sremski Karlovci and Stara Pazova today.
In Sremski Karlovci Municipality, they had a meeting with Darko Milanković, head of the Department for Economy and Local and Economic Development of the municipality and his associates, whereas in Stara Pazova Municipality, with Marina Savić , Assistant President of the Municipality for Economic Development and Strategic Marketing, and her associates.
During the meetings, a more comprehensive direct cooperation between the representatives of local self-government and the Fund was agreed regarding EU funding opportunities by providing assistance in the selection and development of EU projects by the Fund’s employees aimed at all those interested from the municipality.
The representatives of Sremski Karlovci Municipality have planned to develop the tourism potential of the municipality, through the implementation of several European projects, such as the Danube Way of Wine, Europe for Citizens, as well as through cooperation with the municipalities from Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary, while the representatives of the municipality of Stara Pazova presented problems they face – the need for reconstruction of sports and recreational center, the reconstruction of the kindergarten and the construction of a skate park in the municipality that could be solved through the implementation of EU projects, in which the Fund would help them. Both municipalities are very active in writing and implementing EU projects.
During the meetings, the discussion also touched upon the prospects for cooperation between the representatives of the local self-government and the Vojvodina Development Agency through the use of subsidies, as well as through the drafting of development of documents that directly concerning the public local self-government.
