Study visit of students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences to the facility in Vinkovci within the XDEGREE project

Within the framework of the XDEGREE project, which is being co-financed under the INTERREG IPA CBC Croatia-Serbia 2014-2020, there was a study tour for the students of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Novi Sad  to the facilities of Vinkovci Water Supply and Sewerage Ltd. on 28 November.

During the implementation of the XDEGREE project, the company has built 6 solar power plants. The solar panels were procured and installed in 2018, and the Kanovci distribution centre, which the students visited, has an installation on the roof with a total capacity of solar panels of 76.18 kWp with an output of 134 kW to the distributor network.

The students had the opportunity to learn about the process of wastewater treatment and see the SCADA system monitoring the operation of the water plant. They were also informed about the future goals and plans of the water utility company to build a biogas plant and improve its energy efficiency, which was also the main objective of the XDEGREE project: to increase the energy independence of public utility companies through the use of renewable energy sources and a better use of biomass.
