United municipalities developing Fruška Gora

Novi Sad, 13 September -Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs, has had a meeting today at the Executive Council of Vojvodina with the representatives of Fruška Gora National Park, His Grace Bishop Vasilije of Srem, municipal representatives of Sremska Mitrovica, Bačka Palanka, Beočin, Irig, Šid, Sremski Karlovci, representatives of Public Company “Construction Land” and Public Enterprise “Roads of Serbia”.

The municipal representatives accepted the suggestion that a coordination body in Sremski Karlovci should be formed which would be engaged in infrastructure building, tourist project development, environmental protection and waste disposal. The cooperation would enable information exchange on ongoing projects among municipalities, so that unnecessary competition or doubling of work could be avoided. Hope was expressed at the meting that the asphalting of the road on Fruška Gora would be finished next year.
