European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and RDA Srem together on European Opportunities

A meeting and a brief seminar has been held in Ruma for the representatives of municipalities of Srem (Sremska Mitrovica, Šid, Ruma, Pećinci, Stara Pazova, Inđija), which has been organized by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and Regional Development Agency (RDA) Srem. The attendees were welcomed by Milan Mirić, director of RDA Srem, followed by Andrija Aleksić, European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, who explained in more details the importance of active participation of Srem municipalities in the programmes of the European Union. He also pointed out how municipalities could benefit from cooperation with the Vojvodina European Office.

In addition to the presentation, the Fund’s representatives, Mina Radmilović and Dražen Lovrić informed the attendees on European funds and Serbia’s experience in previous EU programmes. Special attention was paid to the programmes which become available once obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU membership. The Fund’s latest activities focusing on the cooperation of Danube region countries and on projects under the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, as well as the types of training sessions the Fund provided, were also presented.
