Тhe 6th National Conference on Cross-Border Cooperation

The 6th National Conference on Cross-Border Cooperation was held in Belgrade on 14th November 2018, organized by the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia.
During the National Conference, the achievements of the cross-border and transnational cooperation programmes being implemented in the Republic of Serbia and the neighbouring countries were presented, as well as the opportunities for the cooperation under the new financial perspective of the European Union.
Jadranka Joksimović Minister of European Integration and National IPA Coordinator, greeted the participants of the conference emphasized that after accessing the EU accession, the cohesion funds would be available to Serbia for development and that the time until the EU accession should be used to learn about the pitfalls and problems which the new members faced.
“We do not want to be in a situation they were: not to absorb a large part of those funds through the cohesion policy which is one of the best and most demanding EU policies”, said the minister.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the European Union, Steffen Hudolin, Head of Section – Operations II of the EU Delegation to Serbia, and Simona Pohlová, European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy.

During the National Conference on Cross-border Cooperation, the best projects in the field of cultural heritage were awarded, and the film “Subotica Synagogue – Reconstruction and Digitization of the Building” was shown.
