Enhancement of cooperation between AP Vojvodina and Gorenjska of Slovenia

At the invitation of the European Affairs Fund the AP Vojvodina and the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, so as to enhance regional cooperation, as well as the social and economic development of institutions of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Gorenjska, the representatives of the Regional Development Agency (RDA) Gorenjska of Slovenia have visited the AP Vojvodina.

On 9th May, the European Affairs Fund of the AP Vojvodina hosted a meeting. Gained  experience in the implementation of EU co-funded projects and the prospects for establishing partnerships of institutions between the AP Vojvodina and Gorenjska were discussed by Rok Šimenc, Director of the RDA Gorenjska, Jelena Vidović, Project Manager of the RDA Gorenjska, Vidosava Enderić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Jovan Podraščanin, Assistant Regional Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, Ivana Đurica, Assistant Director for European Programmes and Projects, and Tijana Krstić Maravić, European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina.

The activities of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina were presented by Jelena Tošković. The presentation also involved the 4th cycle of the Specialised Programme “Regional Development through EU Funds”, which allows participants to acquire qualifications for EU funded project management.

The RDA Gorenjska has decades of experience in the development and implementation of EU co-funded projects, which was proven by Rok Šimenc, Director of RDA Gorenjska, who presented an impressive number of projects implemented in Slovenia in various fields, such as tourism, economy, culture, etc. The Director of the RDA Gorenjska also presented the Regional Development Programme of Gorenjska until 2020.

The model of project organization of Srem to implement projects in the field of infrastructure and local economic development was presented by Milan Mirić, Director of the Regional Development Agency Srem, who in that way demonstrated to the Slovenian representatives the establishment of regional projects and projects of inter-municipal cooperation in Srem.

Proud of the fact that Novi Sad won the title of the European Capital of Culture 2021, it was an opportunity to present the project to the Slovenian representatives, and the presentation of the project was done by Đula Ribar, Foundation Novi Sad 2021.

The cooperation between the European Affairs Fund of the APV and the RDA Gorenjska of Slovenia was also intensified by signing the Protocol on Cooperation between the two institutions, which in the future, would contribute to the development of partnerships of institutions from AP Vojvodina and Gorenjska through the implementation of EU co-financed projects, especially EU transnational programmes, as well as better exchange of best practice.
