The ’’Environmentally friendly water management in plain areas’’ project has entered its final phase of implementation; therefore on 12th May 2014, the project partners, the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and the Public Water Management Company “Vode Vojvodine” Novi Sad made another field visit to the site where the dredging had taken place.

This time the goal was to implement the third phase of the analysis and monitoring of the Jegrička watercourse. In the implementation of the project, the Faculty of Sciences, the Department for Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Environmental Protection already presented the results of the water and sludge quality before and during the dredging in the previous two phases of the analysis and monitoring. The results showed that the sludge quality was good and suitable for spreading on the adjoining land. The last sampling phase, being done after the dredging of the Jegrička watercourse, was expected to give positive results.

Siniša Lazić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Janoš Mičkei, Assistant Director for Development of PWMC “Vode Vojvodine” and Miroslav Monar, member of municipal council of Temerin responsible for agriculture, environment and environmental protection, addressed the audience to emphasize, once again, the importance of the project and of networking competent institutions responsible for flood prevention and overflow of watercourses in the cross-border region.
