In cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Srem, the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina has held a meeting to present the options the new EU budget period 2014-2020 would offer. During the meeting, the attendees were presented a detailed analysis and the experience of applicants from Vojvodina in the previous period 2007-2013, furthermore the IPA II Regulation with the financial envelope of EUR 11.698.668.000 adopted on 11th March 2014. The presentation also involved the changes compared to the IPA and policy areas to be funded.
Moreover, the programmes interesting to SMEs and entrepreneurs were presented. One of the programmes was HORIZON 2020 funding three areas: excellence in science, tackling social challenges and leadership in industry, the latter covering also innovations for SMEs. The other was COSME that aimed at promoting growth and encouraging the competitiveness and sustainability of European enterprises involving three main activities: different types of counselling services for SMEs, support for SME partnering, especially for cross-border, and establishment of network to facilitate communication between SMEs and the EU.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, local self-government, public enterprises, NGOs from the territory of the town, SMEs, as well as entrepreneurs, and the meeting was also marked by a discussion on different experiences the beneficiaries gained in the development of their projects.
The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina had a meeting with the mayor of Sremska Mitrovica, Mr Branislav Nemidović, with whom they talked about the prospects of presenting the town potential at the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels and about the workshops that would be held to build the local capacities for better absorption of EU funds.
