A conference “Development of Joint Projects and Strengthening of Inter-municipal Cooperation in Border Regions of Hungary and Serbia“ held

The conference “Development of Joint Projects and Strengthening of Inter-municipal Cooperation in Border Regions of Hungary and Serbia“ has been held at Fantast Castle near Bečej. It was organised by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Regional Development Agency Bačka, Regional Development Agency Srem and Regional Socio-Economic Development Centre – Banat. The purpose of the conference was strengthening of cooperation and establishment of new partnerships related to the submission of project applications under the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation programme.

The attendees were addressed by Budislav Medurić, vice-president of Bečej Municipality, Sanda Šimić, assistant director of European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Milan Mirić, director of Regional Development Agency Srem, Srđan Vezmar, director of Regional Development Agency Bačka, Branislav Milosav of Regional Socio-Economic Development Centre – Banat, and Dražen Lovrić and Andrija Aleksić of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina. Among the institutions whose representatives presented their project ideas for easier partner search under the Programme were the following ones: Strawberry Energy, Institute for Gender Equality, Public Corporation “Vodokanal Bečej”, Compcamp, Bečej Municipality Administration, Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection, Local Economic Development Office of Novi Sad, “Futurizam d.o.o. ”, Vojvodina Transport and Logistics Cluster.

Within the framework of the present Call for Proposals under the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation programme, EUR 15.1 million Community funding (IPA) is available.
