“Proper Use of European Funds – OLAF Experience for Development Opportunities for Vojvodina”

A seminar under the title “Proper Use of European Funds – OLAF Experience for Development Opportunities for Vojvodina” has been held at the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, which has been jointly organised by the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels and European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), a department of the European Commission in charge of proper and legal use of funds allocated for projects which are fully or partly financed by the European Union. The topic of presentations at the seminar was experiences and greatest challenges for efficient realisation of development projects.

The attendees were addressed by the director of the European Affairs Fund, Predrag Novikov, followed by Dušan Sterle, OLAF, who talked about irregularities and abuse of EU funds, moreover, on investigation procedures, examples and experiences of OLAF. Prof. Saša Bošnjak, PhD, University of Novi Sad – Faculty of Economics, talked about experiences in realisation of European projects, whereas, Dražen Lovrić, MSc, spoke about European projects viewed from the perspective of the financial sector and project budgeting.

There seminar was attended by over 150 representatives of public enterprises of Vojvodina, cultural institutions, national councils of ethnic minorities, provincial secretariats, NGOs, regional chamber of commerce, regional development agencies, European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, etc.
