The Office for European Affairs helps open the Niš Office for European Affairs
All parts of Serbia have equal development elements as Vojvodina, however, the rest of our country has large limitations on the use of opportunities for Europeanisation and increase of economic development due to the non-existence of regions. “The strengthening of Europeanisation implies strengthening of institutions engaged in the promotion of economic development and implementation of European standards and a more efficient use of European funds”, said Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs of the Executive Council of Vojvodina. According to him, Vojvodina is the leader in European integration, yet, we wish to open the doors of Brussels and our regional partners in the Member States of the European Union also to our colleagues from future regions of Serbia. “In the forthcoming weeks, it is expected that the Niš Office for European Affairs (Niška kancelarija za evropske poslove – NIKEP) will open in the city of Niš, in partnership with the Office for European Affairs (Kancelarija za evropske poslove – KEP), however, I also expect that the same will happen in eastern and western Serbia as well”, said Novikov.
The would-be employees of the Niš Office for European Affairs will receive training at the Office for European Affairs. Ambassadors of Member States of the European Union are planned to be present at the opening ceremony, who will thus clearly support the initiative for Serbia’s regionalization. Meanwhile, representatives of Šabac, Golubac, Dimitrovgrad, Kragujevac, Vlasotince, etc. have already received training at the Office for European Affairs.
