A seminar for the representatives of local self-governments of Vojvodina has started in Graz

Grac/Novi Sad, 6 June – A seminar for the representatives of some local self-governments of Vojvodina has begun. It was arranged by the Office for European Affairs, on the basis of the Cooperation Agreement between the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Austrian state of Styria, and after the recent announcement of the President of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, MA. Ludwig Rader, Head of the Department for European Affairs and External Relations of the Regional Government of Styria, Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs, and Siniša Lazić, Provincial Secretary of Economy, opened the seminar.

“The aim of this seminar is how best to utilize the opportunities IPA funds offer to local environment, as well as partnership with regions and towns of the EU. The signed Agreement between the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Styria provided a good framework for strengthening the cooperation”, said Predrag Novikov in his address of welcome. On this occasion, the representatives of Čoka, Kovačica, Sremski Karlovci, Bečej, Irig, Bač, Titel and Indjija and a representative of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina are attending a three-day seminar “Modern Management of Towns and Municipalities in the European Union”. Spatial and regional planning, the significance of tourism, the role of municipalities in EU development system, European fund management and project design are only some of the topics the experts of the Government of Styria will be presenting in the forthcoming days.
