Vojvodina and the consortium ”Entrepreneurship Education for Economic Growth“, together with 8 European regions, in the official programme of the European week of regions and cities 2016 in Brussels

Based on the official announcement by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), the consortium ”Entrepreneurship Education for Economic Growth“, consisting of AP Vojvodina (RS), Umbria Region (IT), Norther Ireland (UK), Podlaskie and Swietokrzyskie Region (PL), Olomouc Region (CZ), Presov Region (SK),  Karlovac Region and Varaždin County (HR), has been accepted in the official programme of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2016, which will be held in Brussels 10-13 October 2016. The consortium members will be organising a workshop on the impact of entrepreneurial education and training to support growth and business creation at the representative office of Northern Ireland in Brussels on 11th October 2016, from 09:00 to 13:00.

The event will provide insights into available instruments and programmes and showcase the impact on business creation and growth through inspiring testimonials from alumni entrepreneurs. It will be a great opportunity to regional authorities to discuss about removal of existing administrative barriers and supporting entrepreneurs in crucial phases of the business lifecycle. Is it also a field to share regions most successful practices in this area and to show innovative strategic approach to that matter, by the regional authorities. The aim of the event is to establish a dialogue between political decision-makers and stakeholders and explored how EU regions and cities can move further ahead in promoting inclusive entrepreneurship, including changes of educational methodology on all levels towards the real needs of the regional markets and support for new initiatives. The best practices will show how the abilities and attitudes acquired by young people will help them not only to take charge of their own lives and to influence their own futures but also to play an active role as citizens of Europe.

187 regions and cities from 28 countries, grouped in 22 regional partnerships, are joining forces to contribute to the European Week of Regions and Cities programme in October. Most represented countries amongst partner regions/cities include Italy and Spain, Poland, Germany and the UK and France. The majority of the 22 regional workshops will focus this year on ‘sustained and sustainable economic growth’ (Theme 1). In addition, 38 workshops will be held at the meeting place (organised by the European Committee of the Regions, other partner institutions, networks and associations) and about 65 set up by the European Commission. Online registration of participants will open on 8th July 2016.
