Project team meeting in Szeged within the Cornucopia project

Within the framework of the EU project “Competitive sustainability of agricultural enterprises through the development of new products with added value based on alternative plant species – CORNUCOPIA” project, which is co-financed under the Interreg IPA CBC programme Hungary-Serbia 2014-2020, a project team meeting was held on 4 September 2019.

Norbert Somogyi, project manager, welcomed the attendees. The partner institutions are the Faculty of Agriculture Novi Sad, Association of Gardeners Senta, National Agricultural Research and Innovation Centre ”NAIK“, Cereal Research Non-Profit Limited Company “Gabonakutató“, Lavina Foundation and European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina reported about the implemented activities in the previous period, as well as about the activities to be implemented in the following reporting period.

Both in Serbia and in Hungary, there are excellent conditions for the cultivation of alternative plant species, and the Hungarian partners using the opportunity presented the cultivation of sweet potato, which proved to be very profitable, and it can be used both for human and  cattle nutrition, even in the processing industry.

The duration of the project is 24 months, until 31 March 2020.
