Works on the Bezdan lock and Šebešfok sluice

In the framework of the “The complex water management development of the area of the Baja-Bezdan Canal – BABECA” project, a field visit to the Bezdan lock and Šebešfok sluice on 19 November 2018.
The Bezdan lock has been embanked, the water has been pumped and the old gates have been removed. Currently, the works on the restoration of the riverbed and sluice are ongoing.
The Šebešfok sluice the gates have been positioned horizontally, so that they could block the inflow of water, while a smaller quantity of water has been being pumped out. Currently, the lock gates are being restored.
The participants in the field visit were members of the project team of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, PWMC “Vode Vojvodine” Novi Sad and Lower Danube Valley Water Directorate.
