Field visit to the Bezdan lock and Sebesfok sluice within the “The complex water management development of the area of the Baja-Bezdan Canal – BABECA” project

Within the framework of the project “The complex water management development of the area of the Baja-Bezdan Canal – BABECA”, there was a field visit to the Bezdan lock and Sebesfok sluice, in which the project team members of the PWMC “Vode Vojvodine” Novi Sad and European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina participated.

During the visit, an overview of the history of the facilities was presented, an assessment of their condition was made and the project activities and works to be performed at those sites to revitalise them were presented.

The project “The complex water management development of the area of the Baja-Bezdan Canal – BABECA”, of the total budget EUR 8,699,537.91, is one of the successful projects approved under the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Serbia, aimed at improving the cross-border water management and risk prevention systems. The project is being implemented jointly by the Lower Danube Valley Water Directorate, PWMC “Vode Vojvodine, and European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
