The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in a working visit to the municipality of Čoka
In accordance with the long-term engagement in developing local self-governments of AP Vojvodina, the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Milan Čežek, Nemanja Davidović, Zoran Pavić and Jelena Radosavljević Rovčanin have paid a working visit to the Municipality of Čoka. They had a meeting with Stana Đember, president of the Municipality and Eva Sovenyhazi, project coordinator of the Department for Economics, Agriculture, Urbanism and Housing and Communal Services.
As priority challenges in the following period, the representatives of the municipality of Čoka specified the following: installation of wastewater treatment plants in Čoka, construction of sewerage network in Padej, Ostojićevo and Sanad, problem of waste disposal (since there were no registered landfills), rehabilitation of road infrastructure (with the focus on local roads) and construction of “green” markets in Čoka, Ostojićevo and Padej. They were presented with the prospects for funding some activities, through the development of project proposals by means of which applications could be submitted under some of the future calls under the IPA CBC Programme Hungary-Serbia or Romania-Serbia. Moreover, they were also informed about how to overcome the problem of reduced operational and financial capacity, in order to implement EU projects, which was stated as the biggest obstacle on the way.
