Project meeting and field visit within the BABECA project
Within the framework of the “The complex water management development of the area of the Baja-Bezdan Canal (BABECA)” project, the 11th joint project team meeting and a field visit to the Bezdan lock and Šebesfok lock and sluice was held on 21 September 2020 to assess the situation on site after the completion of the works having been executed at the locks during the project so as to revitalise them, as well as to discuss issues related to the organisation of the ensuing round table and closing conference within the project.
“The complex water management development of the area of the Baja-Bezdan Canal – BABECA” strategic project, which was approved for funding under the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Serbia, with the overall amount of allocated funding EUR 8,699,537.91, of which the amount of the EU (IPA) contribution is EUR 7,394,607.21, is aimed at improving the cross-border water management and risk prevention systems. The project is being implemented jointly by the Lower Danube Valley Water Directorate, PWMC “Vode Vojvodine, and European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
