The youth policies of Novi Sad and Vojvodina presented in Brussels
The traditional European Week of Regions and Cities (ENRG), the largest event of its kind bringing together numerous representatives of regions and cities across Europe, was held in Brussels last week. The delegation of AP Vojvodina, led by the President of the Assembly of APV István Pásztor, paid a working visit to Brussels, when in addition to the official reception for our partners in Brussels, had several formal and informal meetings.
Like the previous years, the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels, on behalf of AP Vojvodina, was part of an official partnership with other European regions and cities to jointly present social policies and results in that area.
The City of Novi Sad is the European Youth Capital this year, and as significant programs and measures have been implemented by the joint efforts of the City and the Provincial Government on the territory of the province, the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels has decided to dedicate this year’s presentation to this topic. Thus, on 8 October 2019, at the seat of the Committee of the Regions in Brussels, the European public was presented with the activities of the OPENS19 Foundation, which, on behalf of the City, i.e. on behalf of the European Youth Capital is undertaking a number of activities through a lot of projects. On behalf of the Foundation, Katarina Živković spoke at the partnership conference.
With this presentation, AP Vojvodina also contributed to the common theme of youth and social policies, which were discussed by other partners, including the following regions and cities: Alpeuregio (South Tyrol, Trentino, Tyrol); Carinthia (Austria); Union of Municipalities of Attica Region (Greece); Veneto, Marche, Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy); Nordland (Norway); Pomorskie Region, Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region (Poland); Bouches-du-Rhône, Marseille (France); City of Castellón and Castilla-La Mancha (Spain).
