A round table was held for local self-government units within the Mos-Cross2 project
As part of the Mos-Cross2 project, on June 3, 2022, a round table was held for local self-government units of the Južnobački administrative district. Those present were greeted by prof. Dr. Sanja Bijelović, on behalf of the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina. A member of the City Council for Communal Affairs of the City of Novi Sad, Zdravko Jelušić, addressed the audience in front of the local self-government and emphasized the importance of the gathering.
Magdalena Sikora, project manager, presented the Mos-Kros2 project, its goals and results, as well as the activities implemented so far, and stressed the importance of mosquito sampling and control and at the same time presented the Mosquito Control Billboards as an innovative project result that will be set for everyone project partner.
Tamaš Petrovic, scientific advisor of the Veterinary Institute “Novi Sad” and a respected expert in the field of entomology, gave a very interesting lecture on the importance of mosquito control for monitoring, prevention and control of vector and viral diseases of humans and animals. The lecture was accompanied by numerous questions and lively discussion.
Dr. Tatjana Pustahija, from the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina, gave a lecture on malaria and other threatening diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. In front of the leading partner, Hrvoje Bekina, Master of Biology, gave a significant lecture on the topic of mosquito control with ecological traps, which were distributed to the present representatives of local governments from the South Bačka District at the end of the lecture.
