The provincial administration doing a training course in EU project development
In cooperation with the Department of Human Resources Management of the Provincial Government, the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina held a tree-day training course aimed at the employees of the provincial bodies at the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina from 4th to 6th November.
During the training course, the participants obtained more detailed information about the EU funding opportunities under the EU funds and programmes available to Serbia, as a candidate country for EU membership, in the 2014-2020 EU financial perspective. During the tree-day training course, the participants developed project ideas, which were identified important for the provincial institutions, while doing practical tasks in smaller groups. The theoretic part of the training involved the presentation on the opportunities for the provincial bodies to participate in the territorial cooperation programmes under the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA), such as cross-border cooperation (CBC) programmes and transnational programmes. Special emphasis was put on the CBC programmes relevant for AP Vojvodina, such as the CBC with the EU Member States – Croatia, Hungary and Romania, as well as the programme with Bosnia and Herzegovina, where institutions from Srem were eligible to participate. The participants gained insight into the tools and methodology used when developing project ideas, such as the logical framework approach, whereas the focus on the last day was on EU project budgeting. During the training, the participants developed skills and approaches necessary for taking a more active role in project development and implementation at the local and regional level.
As the result of a four-year successful cooperation between the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and Department of Human Resources Management of the Provincial Government, eight training courses for 142 representatives of the provincial bodies have been held so far.
