The Secondary School of Economics “9. maj“ of Sremska Mitrovica has recognised the importance of EU funds as a method of institutional capacity building. The employees of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina held a three-day training course under the title “Prospects of Financing through EU Funds“ from 26th to 28th March 2014. The course attendees were the teachers of the Secondary School of Economics.
During the training, the participants could obtain information about the structure and manner of application under the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme available to institutions of AP Vojvodina. Moreover, the EU Programme “Erasmus+“, available to educational institutions from Serbia, and to be ongoing in the seven-year period from 2014 to 2020, was presented. In the practical part of the training, the attendees developed their project ideas related to the enhancement of the educational profile – tourist technician, increase in pupils’ knowledge about the start-up of one’s own business, as well as improvement of teaching by introducing innovative programmes and equipping the premises. While working in groups, the attendees gained hands-on experience in the analysis and planning of projects and project ideas in compliance with the EU requirements.
