Reception of Vojvodina in Brussels

The European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, headed by Director Vidosava Enderić and  Vojvodina European Office organised another highly-attended reception within the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels. Traditionally, the reception was held at the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union.

The reception, this time called “Vojvodina, Future Unlimited”, was attended by a large number of representatives of European cities and regions, as well as representatives of European institutions, and was welcomed by István Pásztor, the President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Ana Hrustanović, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the EU, and Nebojša Drakulić, Assistants Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-government.

Thanking the attendees, President Pásztor emphasized that there are many values ​​and virtues that adorn Vojvodina’s space, and that one of them is persistence, because when 26 national communities live together in the same territory and perceive that territory as their home, it is the result of persistence, diligence and loyalty. “This repeating appearance in Brussels reflects this persistence, and at its core is our deep conviction that Europe must not allow itself to be poorer for Vojvodina, because Vojvodina, along with Serbia, is qualified to be part of the European Union by all its characteristics and standards. community” said President Pásztor.

Welcoming the guests on behalf of the Provincial Government, Nebojša Drakulić emphasized that one of the greatest values ​​of AP Vojvodina is multiculturalism and multinationality from which other values ​​derive, making this area a stable social whole. He added that Vojvodina is therefore able to successfully cooperate with the most developed European regions. “Provincial institutions are very supportive of the European integration process of the Republic of Serbia, as evidenced by the large number of projects we are implementing with partner regions,” said Nebojša Drakulić, Assistants Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-government.

Ambassador Hrustanović pointed out that every year and every day we are proud of AP Vojvodina and all that it represents in its cultural, national and every other diversity. She emphasized that Vojvodina proved capable of being part of Europe by carrying the title of European Youth Capital for 2019 and European Capital of Culture in Novi Sad.

The reception featured a promotional movie about Vojvodina, which illustrated some of the famous and unknown and successful people born in Vojvodina through history, in order to evoke more closely the cultural riches and manifestations that, according to those present, AP Vojvodina should be an integral part of the tourist and business offer on a map of Europe.
