European Parliament: business breakfast on the topic of SMEs in Serbia

Andor Deli, Member of the European Parliament (MEP), hosted a business breakfast in Brussels on 27th June 2017. The topic of the meeting was small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of Serbia and their integration into the single market of the European Union. The representatives of the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels, together with representatives of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the EU, as well as the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, participated in the meeting.

MEP Deli emphasized the importance of timely adaptation to the challenges of the single market and expressed once again his support for the country’s EU integration. In addition to him, Ana Hrustanović, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the EU, underlined that SMEs are the backbone of the Serbian economy, and mentioned important sectors, such as agriculture and IT, which are especially developed in AP Vojvodina.  MEP Franc Begovič also spoke about economic integration in agriculture.

The representatives of the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels used the opportunity to announce similar events which will cover the most important economic issues for AP Vojvodina. Finally, a meeting with the head of the umbrella organization for SMEs in Europe “SME Europe” was agreed in order to discuss specific forms of further cooperation.
