Žitište and Nova Crnja wish to continue with EU education

On 8th November 2018, the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Milan Čežek and Zoran Pavić, as well as the representative of the Development Agency of Vojvodina, Živko Planić, visited the municipalities of Žitište and Nova Crnja.

In Žitište, their hosts were Đorđe Žuža, Deputy President of the Municipality, Dragana Petković, President of the Municipal Assembly, Jelena Travar Miljević, Assistant to the President of the Municipality for Local Economic Development. They expressed the need for re-organizing the three-day training course “EU Funding Opportunities” because there was a large number of those who were interested in contributing to a greater development of their local self-government through that kind of education.

The municipality of Nova Crnja was represented by Pera Milankov, President of the Municipality, Dejan Pantić, Advisor to the President of the Municipality for Investment, Dragan Tomin, Head of the Department for Economy and Goran Lakić, Assistant to the President for Local Economic Development. They were most interested in the Specialised Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“, which the European Affairs Fund has been organizing successfully for years, and whose fifth cycle is in progress.

An agreement was made to enhance the direct cooperation between the representatives of both local self-governments with the European Affairs Fund and the Vojvodina Development Agency, although it was visible that great progress in the use of EU funds and attraction of foreign investors had been made over the past two years. Thus, the representatives of both municipalities indicated that the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina greatly contributed to the actualisation of applied projects, because the frequent visits, initiatives and logistics led to their final realisation. Successful cooperation with partners from Romania was also established, as most of the submitted and implemented projects were directed towards the INTERREG IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Romania-Serbia.
