The 6th Regional Business Forum

The Sixth Regional Business Forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina. The forum was organized by the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the Assembly of European Regions in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, the Development Agency of Vojvodina, the “European Affairs” Fund of the AP Vojvodina, and the European Entrepreneurship Network.

The topics of this year’s event focused on the application of artificial intelligence in the agricultural and food processing industries, as well as in the metal processing sector, along with information and communication technologies.

Participants in the forum included companies from the region, as well as regional chambers of commerce, development agencies, and other institutions providing support for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and the improvement of the economic climate. This year’s forum brought together over 150 participants from 20 countries, with over a hundred B2B meetings already registered, and more expected, as the registration platform is open until December 8th this year.

Addressing the attendees, Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Sofić, emphasized that AP Vojvodina, with over 600 companies investing 11.6 billion euros, is recognized as an exceptionally prosperous region for investors.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, Boško Vučurević, highlighted that the forum is an ideal platform for networking and regional connections, especially during times of global crisis, and it influences minimizing its impact on the economy of our region.

Via video link, the President of the Assembly of European Regions, Albert Castellanos, addressed the participants, emphasizing that business forums of this format not only provide a space for changes in the economic circumstances of the region but also offer the opportunity to address important political issues.

The opening part of the forum also featured presentations from the province of Shandong (PR China), the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy), Catalonia (Spain), the province of Hesse (Germany), and the Department of Val d’Oise (France).
The opening of this year’s Regional Business Forum was attended by the Vice President of the Assembly of European Regions and Vice President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Damir Zobenica, the Vice President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Aleksandra Đanković, representatives of European institutions, the Provincial Government, and business representatives who, after the plenary session, had B2B meetings.
