The lecture “History and Creation of the European Union“ held in Zrenjanin

With reference to the “European Village” event, which gathers elementary school pupils of the municipality of Zrenjanin to mark the Europe Day, with the aim of promoting the values of the European Union and the wealth of the nations and countries comprising it, the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina held the lecture “History and Creation of the European Union“ to the sixth grade pupils from Zrenjanin and Čenta.

Over sixty pupils and their teachers of the elementary and high school “9.Maj” from Zrenjanin and the elementary school “Branko Radičević” from Čenta attended the lectures. It was the second one in a series of planned visits to the schools in the municipality of Zrenjanin aimed at increasing the pupils’ knowledge of the European values.

The lecturers, Teodora Milkov Manić and Jelena Radosavljević Rovčanin, informed the pupils about the position of the European Union and the historical circumstances which influenced its establishment, and the focus was on the significance and goals behind the unification of the nations of Europe. The lectures were interactive and the pupils were able to ask a number of questions. The showed excellent knowledge of geography and history of Europe, as well as familiarity with the topic of the European Union.
